Peter Michael Goetz

Peter Michael Goetz was born on December 10, 1941 in Buffalo, New York, US to Irving and Ester Goetz. Buffalo, New York is also where Goetz was raised. He attended Frontier Central High School in Buffalo and after graduating headed to the University of Miami in Florida (he wanted to be a commercial airline pilot) but became ill and transferred to State University New York (SUNY) at Fredonia (in 1999 he spent a month at SUNY in residence as a teacher of drama), attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Theatre Arts Studies performing plays on the Showboat, and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
It was in 1966 that Goetz first started to act professionally as a McKnight Fellow (awards to outstanding Minnesota artists). By 1968, after graduating from the U of M graduate program at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, he was involved with many productions over 11 straight seasons. He stayed there until 1979 then moved to New York for 10 years then to Los Angeles for 20 years. He was a part of the Christmas Carol company for five years (1975 - 1980).
He's been married to Constance Fleurat since 1966, they have two sons Kevin (Director/Writer/Producer) and Michael (Director/Writer/Producer), and seven grandchildren.
He currently lives in Malibu, CA
