LOL! I agree, his induction is long overdue. But at least he's being inducted.
Neil Gaiman, aka Mr. "Sandman," is hosting? Great!!!
"Sandman" is quite a bit like SW in the sense that it incorporates a lot of different mythologies, religions, legends, etc. into the overall story.

Anne McCaffrey - well deserved, the Pern novels are amazing.
About time Lucas got in there, along with HG Wells and Roddenberry he's done more than anyone to bring sci-fi to the masses.

Hellooooo!!
Yep, Pern's good stuff.
Yep, Neil "Sandman" Gaiman.
Hope someone films it or at least takes some decent pics.
OK. I've used my 'yep' quotient.

About time!
And Frank Herbert*? He is waaaay overdue for induction. Dune is a major influence on SW. ( Tatooine, anybody?)
* Uhhh, I thought he was deceased. Is this posthumous?

Yes, both Herbert and Freas are being inducted posthumously. Frank Herbert died several years ago and Freas just last year.

I must add here that I've met three of the 4 inductees. Lucas is the only one I've not met. That's certainly a more difficult feat but stranger things have happened, right? *crosses fingers*
